Four Flips, Not Twenty-Nine: Governing Validator Autoscaling in Private Blockchains
TL;DR for operators When a live metric hovers near a scaling cutoff, a threshold controller can alternate between adding and removing resources. In validator infrastructure, those reversals can create synchronization, peer-discovery, key-management, block-production, and operational overhead without producing a clearly better stable state. Under the same 1,200-second workload, a controller that combined several partially matching rules into one weighted action produced four decision flips and two scaling actions.
